Washed With the Word
by Malea Plaza

“When I came, why was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Was my arm too short to ransom you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? By a mere rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst. I clothe the sky with darkness and make sackcloth its covering.” The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back. I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting. Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame. He who vindicates me is near. Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other! Who is my accuser? Let him confront me! It is the Sovereign LORD who helps me. Who is he that will condemn me?” (Isaiah 50:2-9)

This morning the word I read was in Isaiah 52:1, “Awake, awake, O Zion, clothe yourself with strength!” That was what got me out of bed!

God is so good, in HIM we have victory. Our Lord was mocked, beaten, and crucified. He did all of that for us. He loved us that much! We must remember that though the world hates us, it hated Him first. But by His stripes, we are healed! But let us not forget the empty tomb! THAT is why we have victory, death could not hold our Savior!

We must choose our attitude every day and choose to walk in that victory. Our trials are what strengthen us! We must run to the Living Word when our trials overwhelm us. The Word washes away the devil’s lies. It is a beautiful thing!

The Holy Spirit is our comforter and we must rely on Him to comfort us. Just like God tested Abraham’s faith, He’ll test ours. God never changes.

I had about a week pass when I didn’t “feel” God close, and the devil told me God wasn’t listening to my prayers. But that was a lie! I continued to pray, speakingGod’s Word more and more, what the Bible says, not lies. Then after that week I had my breakthrough! God didn’t want me to live in my emotions, to always rely on how I FELT all the time. “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1) We must pray for God to increaseour Faith in Him and meditate on His Word to drown out all of the lies whispered in our ears.

Don’t give up so soon! Memorize a powerful verse and meditate on it. Yes, memorize it! When you memorize that one, memorize another one! Wash yourself in His Word! Focus on Him! Get in the Word!

Did you read the passage above? His Word sustains the weary! His Word will sustain you! Who is your accuser?!!! Set your face like flint and trust in your God who is BIGGER than anything or anyone that comes against you!

Pray, read and meditate. Pray, read and meditate! Life got you down? Psalm 121 says, Look up!!

Thank you Heavenly Father and Thank you Holy Spirit for ministering to us and bringing us comfort through Your Word this morning! JESUS IS LORD! Thank you Dear Lord Jesus for dying for us so we could live!!!
