Heart of God East Africa: “Trust Turns It Around”

There are so many important lessons to learn from the Holy Bible. One that really sticks out in my mind this holiday season is something called “reversal of destiny” also called “reversal of fortunes”. In the literary sense it’s called a chiastic structure, and can be found many times over within the books of the Bible. It’s a common thread that has a lesson to teach in and of itself.

In life, where so many tests and trials befall us, we sometimes find ourselves feeling stuck in a situation that appears to have no way out. During the holiday season so many of us find ourselves feeling overwhelmed emotionally and financially. We seem to have no way out but to fall into to the commercial aspect of Christmas to giving gifts that place us in a financial bind rather than offering a gift that is free to all who will accept it.

The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13 “You have been put to no test but such as is common to man: and God is true, who will not let any test come on you which you are not able to undergo; but he will make with the test a way out of it, so that you may be able to go through it.”

The reversal of destiny in our lives is a pivotal point where God picks us up out of our situation and places us in the opposite direction. His hand of grace and salvation is where we find our way out.

Every turn-around starts with a step. Jesus came for people just like us. All saved by grace. Freed by grace.

This holiday season, it is my prayer that you seek the gift of salvation for yourself and for those who mean the world to you. Give the gift of eternity! Take the step of faith and turn around your destiny and you will find freedom from the things of this world that can overwhelm and devour us. Give he gift of Jesus Christ.

I’d like to give a heart-felt thank you to everyone that has supported Heart of God East Africa. Thank you for your commitment to give the children and widows of East Africa a reversal of destiny. Many of them now have the gift of life that only comes from Jesus. Although it’s easy to forget, you are a part of giving this Gift through your prayers and financial contributions.

Fruit Day - November 2010

Did you know it takes $50 to feed one serving of fruit to the children at Smile Africa Ministries?  With our current budget, the children get one serving of fruit each week, a far cry from a healthy child’s daily nutritional requirements.  Please consider helping us expand our Fruit Budget to supply this necessary source of vitamins and minerals by making a monthly pledge.  Contact us for more information if you’d like to get involved.  Thank you so much!
