This is Your Season

Originally written by Christian poetess Donna Rogers in 2011 as a New Year poem based on Isaiah 43:19 and Psalm 1:1-3, she’s sharing the lines now because they also lend themselves to the essence of Holy Week.

This is Your Season

Battered, beaten, bruised,
rejected, renounced, used,
lied on, talked about, abused,
what are you to do?

Dear Christian, don't fret.
Better days are ahead yet
if you reject the world and let
Jesus see you through.

You're a tree planted by the river.
This is your season, so don't quiver.
Go to your God; He will deliver.
Your fruit will multiply.

Satan comes to steal,
kill, destroy you for real.
But you have favor. Appeal
to God. He'll hear your cry.

Dear Christian, this is a new day.
Throw those sinful ways away.
Keep those wayward things at bay.
Treat them like a lesion.

Spring forth, turn to your God.
Bring forth fruit in your yard.
You will prosper. Hold up your rod.
This is your season.
