Share Your Burdens

Sometimes as Christians, we are not completely honest about what’s going on in our lives. We don’t want to “burden” anyone with our problems. Some of us justify this because we know our brothers and sisters in Christ have their own struggles and we certainly don’t want to add to them.  However, how can we truly love one another and as Paul said “bear one another’s burdens” if we don’t know about them? How many of us have been asked,”how is everything?” or “how are you doing?” and we manage an anemic “just fine” and a weak smile. The Bible says if we bear one another’s burdens, we fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2). So while we know everyone has their own problems, that doesn’t mean we cannot pray and offer any other assistance. We are of the same Body, if one member suffers we all suffer (1 Corinthians 12:26).

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God (1 Corinthians 1:3-4)
