lightstock_160956_medium_user_3844373Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God (Psalm 42:11).

While there’s so much to thank God for, there will be times that we experience disappointment. Situations just don’t work out the way we thought they should. God didn’t answer that prayer in the way we thought He would. We’ve discovered our first love has gotten married; we didn’t get that promotion we were working diligently to secure. Sometimes, that results in us feeling angry, confused, and bitter. Despite what emotions we’re feeling; we must remember that God is sovereign. Nothing escapes His notice and He knows the desires of our hearts. He knows the sadness and turmoil we feel. Praise Him anyway for all He has done, is doing, and will do. God has not left us alone for He promises, “I will never leave you, nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). We have a promise we can stand on, even when we feel like everything is falling apart.

Give your burdens to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall (Psalm 55:22).
