Our Feet at His Direction By Jeanice McDade, Senior Editor

Go Tell the World

Rom 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
I love this verse! It provokes thought in me on a couple of different planes.   The first time I read it, I thought, “well, baby feet are certainly beautiful”.    A sigh escaped me as I remembered kissing beautiful little babyfeet. I was reminded that we are children of God, some of us still in the baby-stage. I imagine the tender gaze of God as we take our first Christian steps and proclaim (with wonder and excitement) the love of God and the power of the blood. Just like a child, we may toddle around but, at His guidance, we get the job done and there is growth. Just like a child looking for a path to take its first steps, we in our purity and trust, wait upon God to show us that path… to open that door…to clear that way. He fills our mouths, we are merely obedient in study and action and attitude. Just as that toddler reaches for something to stabilize itself, we rely upon the steadiness of the Word of God.
Ah, and sometimes we fall!  It is possible to grieve the heart of God, more serious than a parent concerned and gasping as they rush to aid a bruised and bleeding child. God has made a plan for us, a life for us, and He knows what is just and what is best and how we can glorify Him. There are times when He may rush to aid us and there are times when He may allow us to lay in the floor until we get up or reach for Him. He is faithful, we need to be continually focused upon Him.
Beautiful Feet
…and sometimes we fail.   Our God is gracious and just to forgive and we learn and grow from our failings. Perhaps as the toddler who learns not to touch a hot stove, we learn from error, even if it be done in ignorance and we learn to listen to that still small voice. Failing and falling are things that we can use, if directed by His Spirit, to teach. Once we are listeners and learners then we are able to become teachers and speakers. Do not repeat past error but also do not be afraid to use the victory of Christ in testimony and teaching as you have learned and grown from these experiences. This is part of evangelism and a wonderful way to expose and show example of the power of His blood.
Isa 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
Delight in the Lord, He certainly delights in us. As a child, let us look up into His face with wonder as He orders our beautiful feet to walk according to His will, as He sets them where ever He will. Let our minds be full of His Word and our mouths led of His Spirit. Evangelism begins today, in our hearts, in our homes. Let us prepare today for His purpose.
“Dear Father, we love You and seek to glorify You. Teach us your ways Lord, how You would have us to walk and where. You have set us firmly on the rock and we thank You for that. Let us walk according to Your design and not our own. Help us to learn from our mistakes and give us opportunity to help others learn from them as well. Thank You for loving us, even our dirty feet, for seeing us as beautiful, for covering us with the blood. We love You, Lord, thank You for loving us. Our God reigns, indeed! In Jesus name, amen”
