“My People Israel” Writing Contest

Writing contest Israel

We are so moved by the entries we have received so far for this unique and timely writing contest.  With Israel in the daily news, our attention is constantly being drawn to the politics of the war.  One thing the news often fails to communicate is the very personal impact of terrorism … the bravery of IDF soldiers, families living with the uncertainty of where the next rocket will hit, the fear stirred in the hearts of children as they hear the sirens and are whisked off to the nearest shelter, etc.  Because we want to bring a human element to what Israel is facing in this catastrophic war, we invite you — the talented and creative writers — to help us achieve our goal.  Once the entries are received, judged, and the awards announced, the best entries will be compiled and an eBook made available to the public.  It is our prayer that it will open the eyes of many readers to a more balanced understanding of the devastating impact of terrorist organizations such as Hamas through the eyes of Israel’s military and children.

If you enjoy writing fiction based on current events and share our love and support of Israel, we invite you to submit your entry (or entries) for our first “MY PEOPLE ISRAEL” writing competition.

You have a choice of submitting your fictional stories based on one of two themes for this first contest (please do not combine topics):

Life of an IDF Soldier During
Operation Protective Edge

or

The Gaza War Through a Child’s Eyes

While this particular contest has current events in Israel as its focus, please don’t neglect to take this opportunity to glorify God through your entry (or entries).

This contest is NOT an opportunity for political arguments or a platform for or against the war or the broader scope of the issues which could be considered divisive or controversial. If the judges agree your entry is promoting a political argument rather than a creative story, your entry could be disqualified.  Please be careful.

Write in a way that expresses your passion for God’s people Israel, the truth of His Word, and the Beloved Messiah we celebrate with our love, commitment, sacrifice, and service.

Every submission will be judged by a panel of qualified men and women who will assign a numerical value to your entry based on alignment to topic, crafting and creativity of entry, connection with the reader, etc. Neither the author’s name nor any other identifying information will be revealed to the judges; each entry will be judged based on its own merit alone.

Some awesome prizes will go the top 3 entries and honorable mentions awarded to the top 5 runners-up.  See the prizes along with the specific rules for submitting your entry by clicking here.  Entries not following the guidelines for submission will be automatically disqualified.

As noted above, an eBook will be published and made available publicly (free of charge) containing a selection of entries based on the judges’ recommendations.  This will contain the authors’ bios and website/blog addresses.

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me; I’ll be happy to help you in any way I can.  And, even if you’re not a writer, please set aside some time to pray for Israel during this troublesome time. Then, share this writing contest with your friends who blog or write. Thank you!

In Messiah Yeshua,
