L’Shanah Tovah

L’Shanah Tovah

At sundown, September 28th, the Jewish New Year began with the sound of shofars (trumpets). For the next ten days, until Yom Kippur, there will be a time of introspection…a time to repent and make atonement for sins committed during the past year. They don’t understand, yet, that Yeshua has already provided for their atonement by sacrificing His own life, as the Passover Lamb. But they will soon.

As stated before in the Fall Feasts 1 and 2, Yeshua’s return is most likely to happen during the three Rosh Hashanah festivals. Yom Turuah (blowing the trumpets), Yom Kippur (day of atonement and awe), and Sukkot, (festival of booths).

This year has been especially hard as Arabs, who have claimed Jewish land as their own, seek the world’s approval to become a sovereign state. While everyone waits with pounding hearts as to the outcome, I choose to trust what God has to say in the matter, for it is His land, and He chose to give it to Abraham and his descendants after him.

Leviticus~Vayikra 25:23 “The Land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is Mine; for you are strangers and sojourners with Me.”

Genesis~B’Resheet 17:1, 8 “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, ‘I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Caanan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.’”

Numbers~B’Midbar 34:1-12
“Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Command the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance—the land of Canaan to its boundaries.’”

There is no doubt that the days ahead will be unsettled and teetering on the brink of war, but again, I look to the Tanach:
Jeremiah~Yirmeyahu 31 verses 35-37 says: “Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name:
‘If those ordinances depart from before me’, saith the LORD, ‘then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.’
Thus saith the LORD; ‘If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done’, saith the LORD.”

For Israel, I pray a Happy New Year…may God, who is faithful to His Word, truly bless!
