RULES FOR SUBMISSION
Time to sharpen up your pencils and turn on your lap tops for Our Sixth Annual Christmas Story Contest! This year our theme is “Emmanuel: God With Us.” We invite you to submit your theme-based stories and articles.

Drum roll, please, here are our guidelines:

1. Please submit your story via email to contest@journezine.com.

2. All entries must be received by midnight (CST) on December 7th.

3. Your entry (you may submit more than one) must reflect the theme (“Emmanuel: God With Us”) and be no less than 300 and no more than 750 words in length; please use a word-counter to help us stay within our limit. Any entry outside the word limit will be automatically disqualified (ouch!).

4. Your story must be submitted IN THE BODY OF AN EMAIL—NO ATTACHMENTS PLEASE. Please simply copy and paste your entry into the body of an email and email it to contest@journezine.com.

5. Because this is a Christian ministry, your entry must reflect Christian principles and in some way point to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

6. Please help us by including the following information with your submission:

* Full name
* Mailing Address
* Phone Number
* Email Address
* Short Bio (under 75 words) with or without your contact info, your choice and a picture, if possible
* Link to your website and/or blog, if applicable

7. Finally, make sure your story (or stories) are edited and in publishable form.  We will not do any editing on competition entries; they will be presented to the judges exactly as received.

By submitting your story, you affirm that should your entry be chosen as a winner, you allow JournEzine to feature your story in the December 2011 issue of JournEzine and the HGIM e-newsletter mailed to all partners and friends of the ministry, to be displayed on appropriate ministry websites, etc. Also you affirm that you release to Heart of God International Ministries the rights to publish your content as the content relates to this competition.

Please only submit original material—any forwards or copied or plagiarized stories will automatically be rejected (we only want your stuff, from your heart!).

We have independent judges who will read your story (or stories) anonymously; your name and contact information will be removed before submitting the entries to them for judging. We affirm there will be no favoritism—each entry will stand on its own merit.

So, get started writing! Don’t delay another day … and, be sure to share this competition with your writing friends and associates. We’re anxious to read your submission.
