Scriptures on Forgiveness

Jesus in Matthew 6:14-15, “For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

Jesus in Mark 11:25, “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Jesus in Matthew 18:21-22, “Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me?  Up to seven times?”  Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”

Paul in Colossians 3:13, “Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

Paul in 2 Corinthians 2:10-11, “If you forgive anyone, I also will forgive him.  And what I have forgiven, – if there was anything to forgive – I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake that Satan might not outwit us.  For we are not unaware of his schemes.”

Paul in Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Jesus on the cross in Luke 23:33-34, “When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified Him, along with the criminals – one on His right, the other on His left.  Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
