Cyber Solution to Separation

Separation from God is the last place you want to be but if you are a believer, you have hope for your future. We are not only talking about just the short-term future but also the long-term future, namely, eternity. Now is the time to share this hope. The hope Christ gives us through his substitute payment for our sinful state and a relationship with him. But how do you get the conversation started with a classmate, co-worker, friend, person next to you in line at the grocery store, or the fellow frazzled mom at the playground? Interactions with people in your life each day don’t usually have an easy catalyst or icebreaker to share the gospel of Christ. But now with a QR code (quick response code) necklace or key chain you can share a direct link to the simple truth of God’s plan of hope for our lives. Just scan the plan.

“The idea of a QR code link came to me out of necessity,” says Orange County mom, Alison Hans, the designer and developer. “What is more important than realizing our need for a Savior and accepting His rightful position in the big scheme of things and the hope that brings? Unfortunately, there was a gap between knowing the truth and being able to communicate it in a clear concise way.” This is where the QR codes come in. QR codes are those pixilated squares being used more frequently on products, posters or magazine ads. Any smart phone can download a free QR code reader which, when pointed to the code on the necklace or key chain, brings you directly to the site www.WhatGivesMeHope.com where there is a simple gospel message. Alison likens it to “a 21st century cyber gospel tract.”

It is like a “cheat” to do what we are told in 1 Peter 3:15 “. . .Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. . .” (NIV)  That hope, which repairs the separation we experience due to being born into a sinful world in a sinful state.

Alison Hans finds joy in being a wife, as well as, a mom of two in high school. After the home schooling chapter in her life was finished she felt unleashed to work on her own projects. One of those projects being designing and developing necklaces and key chains with a QR code linking to the Gospel message. Growing up in Canada but for the past 21 years making her home in Southern California she will most likely be found in flip-flops loving the warm weather.   You can read more of Alison’s work or contact her here: www.whatgivesmehope.com
