Who Could Stop
What Heaven Ordained?
An Update from Heart of God India

The room was hot and still. Not even a hint of breeze blew through the open windows. The atmosphere was heavy with the lingering smell of curry.  Children were peering around the doorframe to see the visitors. A moment’s pause and it became obvious the air was charged expectation. What did God have in store?

Seated in two rows of simple wooden benches were men of great honor-humble men who loved God more than life itself.  Some had walked a distance to be present.  Others had boarded a crowded train and traveled throughout the night.  Still others rode bicycles through the rough terrain, over mountains and wading through rivers.  No one seemed to care that the sun beat relentlessly on the steamy metal roof of the church.

A white-haired man with leathery brown skin bearing the evidence of a hard life broke out into song. Within a moment, the whole room was filled with melody.  Expressions on their faces failed to convey their hard and impoverished life … they emanated pure and unabashed joy, absolute peace and contentment.  Soon, shouts in their native tongue sparked a fiery passion in these men as some began dancing and others clapped and shuffled their feet.  Faces lifted toward heaven with eyes shut and tears flowing.  Their demonstration of worship was more than superficial … it erupted from submissive hearts yielded to the one true God, not the three-million gods as might be culturally predicted.

We stood there taking this all in wondering what we could possibly offer these precious saints.  We came with a message which suddenly seemed so shallow compared to the Holy Presence filling the humble room.  Yet, their hunger for Truth, their eagerness to receive the Word, and their desperation for more begged us to trust the One who had sent us to this place.

Time passed as if it were as a wisp in the wind … not just a few minutes, but hours.  Who could tell?  What did it matter?  Who could stop what heaven ordained?  We were honored to witness worship at such a level.  No instruments.  No microphone.  No praise team.  No hymnal.  Simply spontaneous. As if it were orchestrated and conducted by the angels themselves.  A choir composed of pure servant-hearts singing praise to the Most High God.

Heart of God India Pastors Conference
Heart of God Pastors

What we’ve witnessed at the Heart of God Pastor’s Conference in India under the leadership of a Senior Pastor has been nothing short of amazing.  Our team leader on the ground is anointed and fervent in his calling to reach the lost and to edify the believers in this Christian minority country.

Heart of God India currently has 42 pastors.  Each pastor has an overseer who helps to support the work through spiritual communication and training, visitation, and prayer. During each month our pastors hold “fasting prayers” on Friday nights.  During these “fasting prayers” the pastors fast and pray for the Kingdom of God, each other, those suffering physically, financially, emotionally, and spiritually.  On many occasions we have been encouraged

by knowing we have 24 hour prayer and fasting going on when our US intercessors and our team in India unite in prayer force.  The dedication of these people of God is both humbling and uplifting.

Our team of pastors is supported spiritually through our School of the Bible which serves our pastors. However, we feel called to open enrollment so other pastors and leaders can be trained alongside our pastors.  The School of the Bible is a wonderful way for them to receive training in evangelism, the Word of God, and also to fellowship with and pray for one another and each other’s congregations, families, and areas of ministry.  We will share more about this in a future newsletter.

Some of our pastors travel a distance to get to our School of the Bible but they do so willingly and faithfully.   We have a few pastors who are illiterate; we are supplying those pastors with additional aids such as Bible CD’s and listening equipment so they can hear and learn the Word of God.  In the past, we have provided items that aid them in their ministry such as Bibles, oil lamps, bicycles (many travel to a second or third village to conduct worship services and provide spiritual care for the villagers) and also drums.

Heart of God India has several ways in which you can participate in ministry to India.  You can pray for God’s work in India, for God to continue to bless it and draw many into relationship with Him.  You can pray individually or join the Intercessors Group for India (click here).  Spiritual support is a powerful and necessary step in building the Kingdom of God; you will be blessed and renewed as you pray for this group of pastors.

Monetary support is also needed and necessary for our continued efforts in India.  We have a Pastors Sponsorship Program offering you, your family, Bible Study group, Sunday School Class, Church, or organization an opportunity to sponsor a pastor for just $22 a month.  This $22 will enable your pastor to feed his family while continuing full-time ministry efforts.  Your monetary support will also give you an opportunity to get a personal glimpse into the heart and continued ministry of your particular pastor.  You will be able to communicate with your pastor (although your communications will be translated) and share your heart and encouragement with him.  Please email me for details how you can participate in this program; there are many ways available to make your monthly support work to bless one or more pastors.

What a privilege it is to be called a child of God!  We thank God for your willingness to share in our ministry efforts in India.

Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice.
Look to the LORD and his strength;
seek his face always.
(1 Chronicles 16:8-11 NIV)

We look forward to sharing with you more areas of ministry in future newsletters.  God continues to move in the hearts of the people of India, there’s no doubt!

To God be the glory, great things He has done!
