Faith Building in Uganda

Although we are counting the days until departure, the 2010 Uganda Outreach began months ago with preparation spiritually, financially, and physically. In about 15 days, we’ll be boarding the plane to begin the actual journey.  The training is complete, the itinerary is worked out, final details are in place, and we’re nearly ready to go. In fact, click on the photo of Paul & Michelle Lehmkuhl (team members) and watch a short video of some of the preparation for the trip!

This has been an amazing experience watching how God is working in the lives of each team member.  As I look back over the past several months, I can’t help but consider the amazing faith that has been built in the hearts of each of us.

Most of our team have never ventured outside of the United States, and for those who have, Uganda has not frequently been included on the list of places visited.

This trip in itself is a leap of faith for of every team member as each one prays that they will keep in step with the Holy Spirit, both individually and as an entire team, despite the fact that many may not know exactly why God has called them to join this Outreach.

“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25

Many on our team, including myself, have been faced with challenges and obstacles
demanding that our faith be stretched to the limit throughout the entire preparation process. Finances, family/relationships, health, jobs … the list goes on. It’s a definite reminder that faith unchallenged is faith stifled. I can tell you with all the love in my heart, that each one on this team has shown to be an active participant in Galatians 5:25. I pray special blessings over each of them.

Praise God for His calling in the life of each team member who has been chosen for this trip. May his wonders never cease!  Without a doubt, the faith building evident within this group confirms that faith always receives results.

Please stand in prayer with all of us as we prepare to be used by God by showing those that may not know God who He is through our words, our actions, and our deeds.

Whether we know it or not, each team member is responding to the Great Commission by taking the Gospel to the nation of Uganda.  I pray Psalm 62:11-12 over each team member:

One thing God has spoken,
two things have I heard:
that you, O God, are strong,
and that you, O Lord, are loving.
Surely you will reward each person
according to what he has done.

May His rewards be great for each one who is going, to each one who has given, and to each one who has prayed.

From the bottom of my heart, Thank You!  Words are inadequate to express our appreciation for each who has participated through prayer and support in so many ways.  It brings me great joy to know that, along with our team, you are also building your faith by believing God is who He says He is and that He alone can accomplish everything He has planned for this trip.  He is more than able!
