Israel… The Battle Ground

Israel, just a tiny nation barely the size of New Jersey, but one which affects every living being on this planet. Why? Because God called the Jewish race to be His own peculiar people, through whom He would send His only Son, Yeshua, to fulfill the prophecies of the Tanach, or what we refer to as the Old Testament. Yeshua is the bridge between God and man~the connection by virtue of His death and resurrection.

So what is happening there today? The same thing that has happened for centuries. It started before the Garden of Eden, before God even brought human beings into existence. It began in His very own realm. Lucifer, or Satan as we know him, was then a perfect, beautiful, and powerful angelic being of the highest order, who literally protected God’s Holiness and Glory. A being who let a thought enter his mind and poison his heart. A being who thought he could take over God’s realm and be like Him. A being who, when confronted, refused to repent and ask for forgiveness, choosing instead to poison the minds of other angels and lead them in a revolt against their Creator.

Sound familiar? It’s in the nightly news, splashed across the headlines of newspapers and found easily by searching the Internet. He couldn’t defeat Yeshua-Jesus, so Satan is still hard at work stirring up rebellion and revolts. His ultimate goal? To destroy Israel and God’s people. If he could use the nations to defeat Israel and the Jews, he wouldn’t have to work as hard at destroying the followers of God’s Son–followers, who are in danger even now, because their teachings have been tainted with humanism and subtle deceptions. The Father of Lies has seduced them into believing men, instead of the Word of God.

Will he succeed? Hear what God has to say about it in both the Tanach and the B’rit Chadasha (Old and New Testament):

Psalm 2

Why do the nations rage and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth have set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.”

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh: The Lord shall hold them in derision. Then He shall speak to them in His deep displeasure: “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill Zion.” “I will declare a decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son. Today have I begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’”

Now therefore, be wise, O kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled yet a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

Zephaniah 2:8-11

“I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the insults of the people of Ammon, with which they have reproached My people, and made arrogant threats against their borders. Therefore, as I live,” says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, “ Surely Moab shall be like Sodom, and the people of Ammon like Gomorrah—overrun with weeds and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation. The residue of My people shall plunder them, and the remnant of My people shall possess them.” This they shall have for their pride, because they have reproached and made arrogant threats against the people of the LORD of hosts. The LORD will be awesome to them, for He will reduce to nothing all the gods of the earth; people shall worship Him, each one from his place, indeed, all the shores of the nations.”

It will appear as though Satan has truly won in the last days—specifically, the last three years of the period of tribulation, after he seduces the world through the anti-Christ by appearing to save everyone and bring peace. And at the center of it all will be Israel, that tiny little country the world blames for all its ills. He will make a covenant of peace with them, but it will be short-lived (three years). After that all “hell” will break loose.

But~God will have the final word, and you can find it written in Revelation, chapters 19 and 20. Something you may want to read and pray over on your own before you declare who you are going to believe and follow!

Choose wisely. As for me and my household, we will serve (Yeshua) Adonai! Joshua 24:15

Please pray for the peace of Israel and Jerusalem. Psalm 122:6
