What a month we’ve had! The Lord provided everything we needed through Biblica, Koinonia Institute, and Renewed Vision Professionals so that Chaplain Peter can continue to fulfill his vow to our Lord. Here is how it all went down…

On September 6 we received our first correspondence with Chaplain Peter:

I am the chaplain of a Special Operation Unit located at a remote base in Afghanistan. I was hoping that you would be able to assist me in providing Bibles and Instruments for my guys. We are establishing a new base here and building a new chapel which we hope to be done by Christmas. I know it is hard to believe that in 2010 we are expanding but as you may be aware this fight is becoming more Special Forces directed.

That means I am establishing something here that I will hand off to the next group of Special Operators. I am trying to supply my guys with some good NIV Study Bibles for here in the chapel. I came across your site and was amazed at the support you provide. I don’t know exactly what you will be able to supply me with but I thought I would ask for the moon and see how far you would be able to reach with God’s help.

Study Bibles, Bible Study Materials, Instruments to get my chapel up and running, and if possible a software program that would help immensely with running the chapel service-Pro Presenter 4. I think your organization is amazing and means a lot to me to know that there are people like yourself and your organization that will stand behind us and help us bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to our men in uniform. May the Lord bless you and all you do. ~Peter

Well, of course, God set us about His work making sure that what was asked in the name of His Son would get to those who are praying for it. On September 28th, Chaplain Peter wrote that he had received the Bibles from Biblica and the Bible study materials from the Koinonia Institute.

Thank you so much for sending them my way. I have not distributed any yet but I wanted to let you know how I plan on using them. I have a number of remote Fire Bases that I cannot visit frequently. These guys need an easy to follow Bible study program that they can lead and follow along without my help. Your workbooks and CD’s do just that. I am very appreciative of all that you do in the advancement of the Kingdom of God. May the Lord bless you and all you do. ~Peter

Praise Report

The Military Fellowship co-hosted a group of over 30 Konionia Institute students/members (4 of which are new KI students thanks to the Military Scholarships provided by KI House) at Calvary Chapel Tri-cities in Kennewick, WA.

We were blessed by a study on Num 6:24-26: “The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace” by Dan Stolebarger of Koinonia Institute.

We have all been hit by the economic issues of the day. For some, making ends meet is growing more difficult by the day. It is no different for SBM. The volunteers often utilize their own resources to make sure the Word of God gets into the hands of the lost. We need your help to continue to fulfill the Great Commission. Please pray for us and offer your support as your heart leads.

An extra special word of thanks goes out to all our new and regular monthly donors as well as our friends at Biblica and Koinonia Institute.

As always, please continue to keep all our troops, allied forces personnel, and all military families in your constant prayers.
