Angels Witness of God’s Human Birth

HEBREWS 1:1-6
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship Him.

When the heavenly proclamation went out, did all the angels of God worship this Christ Child?  When, where and how?

LUKE 2:8-14
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

I do not know if the shepherds saw all the angels of God worshiping God and giving Him glory through their powerful influence that night or not.  I know it must have been quite a stupendous sight though.  Whether the shepherds saw all of them or not, We did read in Hebrews 1:6 where it was written” let all the angels of God worship Him”.  How did the shepherds respond to the  manifested inspiration of the angels?

LUKE 2:15
15. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

What God commands His angels to do, He commands them to do with the functions He has given them wherewith to operate.  In this case, He commanded them to apply  their power of influence to worship Him at the birth place.  That is exactly what they did.  They proclaim whether in words or singing, “Come, let us worship the King!  Jesus the Savior is born.”

Did God proclaim that mankind should celebrate Christmas?  YES! He did so through the proclamation, this decree out of majesty, if you will, straight out ot the King’s courts, which He mandated and decreed of His angels.  Perhaps one may say that was for them back then.  Are we still pursuaded in our spirit (“inspired” or “enspirited”) to worship Jesus and celebrate the season.  In our celebration, is it acknowledging Jesus as the Christ come in the flesh?

In the English Standard Bible, Romans 14:6 reads, “The one who observes the day, observes it in honor of the Lord.  The one who eats, eats in honor of the Lord, since He gives thanks to God, while the one who abstains, abstains in honor of the Lord and gives thanks to God”.

Extending 1 Corinthians 10:31 let me say whether we eat, or drink, send cards, wrap gifts, decorate the house, cook all kinds of goodies, trim the tree, visit relatives, receive gifts, stuff stockings, feast or fast, sing carols, watch movies, or whatever we do, let us to all to the glory of God.

I do not celebrate Passover normally, neither Purim, nor the feast of Pentecost.  I will celebrate Christmas unto the Lord my God.
