Heart of God East Africa Update: Simply Amazing!

Thank you to each of you who responded to our appeal on behalf of King’s Primary School.  We will be leaving for the UK in about ten days to work out the details and learn more about the plans, details, and legalities connected with transferring ownership of the school to Heart of God East Africa.  Your generosity is humbling and continues to confirm God’s hand in this amazing opportunity.  If you would like to make a donation to help offset the cost of this unbudgeted trip, please click here. Your donation is tax deductible; but more than that, your gift will enable us to respond to this opportunity to directly impact the lives of more than 300 children in Uganda.  Thank you!

It hardly seems possible that so much can happen in such a short period of time. It feels as if we just returned and yet here we are in the preparation stage for our next outreach to East Africa in July. We wait with much anticipation to see the glory God will bring Himself through the hearts called to and living in East Africa.

Preparation for each mission trip to East Africa demands careful planning.  Intricate details are hemmed in by prayer and waiting on God for specific direction, for the right connections, and for every day’s schedule.  We trust God to orchestrate His will through people across the nations, some of whom we have met and some we are waiting to meet.  We may not know prior to departure who it is God will lead us to connect with for His purposes, but He knows and He’s already working out every detail.  He knows who will be a part of this ministry long before we do.  This is His ministry … established before the foundations of this world as a vehicle to bring Him glory and fulfill His purpose – making His Name known and His great gift of salvation available to as many as will respond to His call.  He knew who, when, why and where from the beginning. It’s simply amazing … hard to fathom even the thought of it.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to son-ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.” (Ephesians 1:3-6)

There are men, women and children in Uganda who have not yet heard the message or fully understand their place as sons and daughters in God’s kingdom. It’s our command from Heaven and an amazing privilege to take that knowledge and share it as we carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to men, women and children in East Africa.  Glory to God!

Pray with us during our planning and preparation. Pray for those that are called to fulfill this commandment. Pray for those that will receive it, and for those who will reject it now but who may in the future.

Fruit Day - November 2010
Did you know it takes $50 to feed one serving of fruit to the children at Smile Africa Ministries?  With our current budget, the children get one serving of fruit each week, a far cry from a healthy child’s daily nutritional requirements.  Please consider helping us expand our Fruit Budget to supply this necessary source of vitamins and minerals by making a monthly pledge.  Contact us for more information if you’d like to get involved.  Thank you so much!
